Corner nook in the new studio
Creating an intentional space
This corner of my studio is what I can see from my working desk. It took some difficult decisions, but clutter is just delayed decisions. The art on the wall rotates as new work is created.
Studio in the kitchen
Today I made my first ever batch of juice jelly. The quince bush in front of my home was bursting with fruit. Quince looks like apples, but it inedible right off the bush. After boiling for hours, this beautiful ruby jelly has the taste of tart cranberries. Great when paired with a sharp cheddar cheese.
Playful, layered artist trading cards
Artist Trading cards
Artist trading cards are about the size of a business card. Often, I will create a small batch of playful artist trading cards. It is a chance to play, explore and discover. Finding other artists to trade with is easy in this day of social media. I have a growing collection of cards form around the world!
Artist Cards in Cold Wax
It was a snowy day and I was blissful to settle in for a play date in the studio. This batch of cold wax and mixed media artist trading cards were a delight to create and share.
A Morning in the Studio
It started with a sketch from my sketchbook. With a full day ahead, I grabbed some time to transform those sketches into watercolor paintings. Sometimes you don’t need inspiration, you just need to do the work.
An Unlikely Muse
It was quite by accident I stumbled upon this garlic reaching for new life. Something about the doggedness and determination of these few cloves of garlic grow new life inspired me.
